All my news, as well as info about events, new books, festivals, competitions and freebies will be on my Facebook Author Page. Do join me there and contact me through it.
I will be on Twitter - @nicolamorgan - though perhaps less than in the past. I may change the Crabbit avatar soon but am reluctant to discard all my clothes. Phew!
Please note: I will continue to blog at Crabbit At Home, at least until my new home is sorted. Please join me there for news, competitions, chat, soap-box stuff and all manner of fun things. Do join as a follower, please!
And I am still blogging with my fellow children's authors at the fabulous Awfully Big Blog Adventure.
So, although this is the end of this blog, it's not goodbye. But it is time for a big thank you to all of you lovely, lovely readers. And a farewell giveaway to show my appreciation. Please leave a comment below and I will use a random generator to select three lucky readers from anywhere in the world to receive a signed copy of any one of my in print books. Deadline this Sunday 5pm BST.
THANK YOU! It's been a blast!
PS Don't forget: all my advice is still available. See the post below for details. I'll be watching you!

Onward and upward as they say; sadly I won't be able to join you at your FB page as I am one of the minority on the planet who shun that particular abomination - FB in general, not your page of course! - but I shall continue to look out for you on Twitter :)
All love and Luck
Ian
Very sad to see this blog end, it's been incredibly useful and has given me a lot of great ideas. Will we still be able to read previous posts once you stop? I only found you a few months ago & I'm still working my way through your old posts :-/
Best of luck for the future xx
Feeling sleepy and not with it and the news that you're moving on to new things has further disoriented me. Your presence will be missed. Good luck and Alles Gute! Look forward to chatter on Twitter :)
Ian - I will also be on my light blog at Crabbit At Home but yes, you'll see me on Twitter!
Philip - yup, Twitter. Now, wake up and get working!
Sarah - see the blog post below this...
Sniffle, unpurr!
Stop that Spike!
Thankyou for the good brisk brushings, the soothing pats, the rubs between the ears, the virtual tuna and the good advice.
I will keep a Twitter eye on you and promise/threaten to prowl in on FB too.
Moving on is good. Never stay in one spot for too long. Roots make legs look stupid.
Good luck with life!
David.
Thank you for all your patience, and wit, and permission to overdose on cake on the tough days. You are an inspiration.
Enjoy the next bit ...
Congrats on a huge, influential and massively helpful amount of work, Nicola. I think it wd be a shame to change your avatar, but hey. Wishing you continued success.
Thank you again for all your advice and guidance. I shall miss your Crabbit updates but I'm glad that this blog is staying here for future reference.
Best of luck with your future endeavours, Nicola :)
See you on FB and Twitter ;)
Thank you. It's been informative and fun.
Good luck with the new adventures :o)
It's true, all wisdom is in the books. Will miss the blog, though, but already I'm reading old posts. Thanks v much for all.
So long and thanks for all the fish!
I will still be sending links to this blog to anyone who asks me how publishing works.
Thanks for all your crabbit entertainment and wisdom!
Good luck with your writing ventures Nicola, it sounds like you have some exciting things in the pipeline. And finally, just like loads of others, I'm relieved you're leaving this blog here so I can revisit as needed. Thank you!
shame to see this blog go. It's been very helpful and informative. Thanks for the time and effort you have put in.
Well done, but I cannot access FB from office - so it will be harder for me to follow your posts.
Anyway, looking forward to read more from you
Good luck Nicola and thank you for all your wonderful advice! :)
Ercan - please note that I'm still blogging at Crabbit At Home! It's fun over there. And you can still contact me there.
Thank you for all your lovely comments, everyone.
I'm hoping for some interesting news soon. :)
Will come and find you on fb as soon as I get back online!
Good luck with everything and thanks for all your hard work and help :-)
PS Virtual party on twitter later?
Thank you Nicola and I caught you just before you head off, lucky me. My top prize goes to your list of most unemotive words NOT to include in your synopsis - "pasta, lettuce, armchairs, paper-clips and barnacles". And your enduring advice. "Leave them out."
I'll find you on twitter and your new blog... Thanks for your support.
Sorry to see this blog ending but I completely understand why! Thank you very much for all your wise words and good luck to you in all your forthcoming writing ventures. I will be following you on Facebook, Twitter and Crabbit at Home, so it's not goodbye it's 'au revoir'! (errugh - sorry, that sounded really cheesy, didn't it?!)
Sad to see the end of this blog, but thank you, Nicola. :)
Very glad to know that all the information and wisdom and crabbithood will still be there for others as I'm always recommending your blog to new writers.
Have an enjoyable time with your new "am writing" focus, and look forward to seeing you At Home. Many thanks.
Thanks for all the great advice...I'll keep this Blog (with all its wonderful library of posts) on proverbial speed dial!
Your blog has been brilliantly helpful and I'm so pleased it's still around as an archive.
You're a classy lady Nicola, and I truly wish you all the best xx
Thanks for all the great advice...I'll keep this Blog (with all its wonderful library of posts) on proverbial speed dial!
I haven't commented often on your posts, although I've read them avidly, so I'd just like to thank you and wish you well for your next era. You've done a jolly good job so far and hope the next chapter in your life is exciting and fulfilling.
Go well, brave girl.
I will miss this blog. I'm not on FB. Don't like it. But I will look for you at the other blog. I haven't commented much, but I have learned from you. Thank you and the best of luck.
Endings are sad, but better a firm conclusion than a dwindling followed by a disappearance. Good luck with everything, and thanks for all the great advice.
Thanks. I've read so many of your posts that I've developed a Crabbit sense! I see things that would start you off and smile (or stop doing them!). If I am ever published I'll big you up - you really helped me. Rach.
Reaching for the tissues, here. Sniff. Best of luck. Glad the At Home blog is continuing for now.
To keep myself from getting too caught up in reading blogs to write, I have mostly been moving to follow people on facebook so I'm glad to hear there will still be stuff for me to read there.
Hi Nicola
Although I've been a long-term follower of your blog, this is my first - and therefore also last - comment. I seldom comment because I prefer a quiet life on the internet ;). As the blog is ending, I want to let you know how much I've valued your advice and enjoyed your humour.
Thanks for everything you've done on the blog for emerging writers - will pop in to Crabbit at Home from time to time.
Best wishes, Amanda
Hi, Nicola. I've been a long(ish) time reader of the blog though I've never commented on anything before, more out of shyness than anything else. However, since this will be your last post (here anyway), it seems appropriate to use the opportunity to thank you for all the advice you have so generously given to aspiring writers everywhere. Truly, honestly, thank you. For sharing advice, for sharing warnings and reprimands with a healthy dose of crabbit-ness, and also for sharing your own struggles as a writer. It helps to know that other writers – bigger, better writers – had to deal with such familiar issues when they first started out.
Your blog helped me overcome a lot of my insecurity and constant doubt and opened my eyes to the incredible wealth of knowledge and support we can find online these days. I live in a country where writing is still a very elitist and incredibly high-brow activity – there’s no “anyone with the passion and determination can have a go” mentality. There are very few authors talking about craft or the actual writing and those who do generally treat it like some sort of transcendent, metaphysical process, like they have been blessed by the heavens above with the many wonderful and brilliant words used to fill one of their books (I may be exaggerating here, but you get the point).
The knowledge that writers are just normal (mostly) people, and that there are in fact things you can learn and do to better your writing, instead of just crossing your finger and wishing really, really hard for divine inspiration, is probably amongst the best things this blog and others like it can give to any disheartened aspiring writer. Along with said things to learn and do, of course.
Anyway, sorry for rambling on. Thank you for the blog, for the advice and for the encouragement, even when unintended. I’ll be sure to continue to follow you around the internet. Though not in a stalker-y way.
Best of luck in all future endeavours, writing-related and otherwise.
- Jo Santos
By the way, sorry if anything in this comment sounds clunky or just strangely worded. I’ll blame it on the language barrier and add that melodrama comes rather easily in a language that’s not your own.
Goodbye, and good luck with your future writing and publishing!
I'm adding this post to my round-up.
I don't have to say it again, do I, Nicola? Without your generous help and advice I would never have got where I am today. Thank you.
I won't be on Twitter much more either. I'm too busy writing :)
Thank you for this blog, Nicola. I'm sure I will revisit it often! Very best wishes for the future. Elle :-)
Thank you so much for all you have done to help new writers with your fantastic blog. Your generousity in helping struggling writers is an example to all of us for when we make it ourselves and I will still be telling every aspiring writer I meet what an inspiration you are. Sad that the blog is at an end, but will follow you on twitter and Crabbit At Home, so that I don't have to miss your advice and humour that helps so much. Good luck in all you do and thank you again for leaving the blog posts for future reference.
Thank you for your wisdom and for sharing. Wishing you well for new endeavours.
Thank you for all your hard work and tireless blogging. :) You've been a brilliant voice, and a wonderful help to us writers in the mysterious waters of the UK publishing industry.
Best of luck with your children's books!
It's been a blast spending these last months reading your blog. Thanks for putting your Self (in this incarnation)out there in the blogosphere for me to find.

I have so enjoyed reading all your advice - you are a wise one. I wish you all the success in the world as you move on to your new incarnation. Good luck

As we all know (or should do by now), good endings are important. Here is a good conclusion to a great blog. Many thanks, Nicola, for all your time and effort.
{Now the Captain puts on his technical hat...} For posterity and safe-keeping, you may wish to back-up the articles and comments in this blog, if you haven't already done so. Google/Blogger has been known to have hiccups, so taking an "export" might be a good idea. See this help article for details.
I'll join in by wishing you even more success with your writing, Nicola; may you continue to go from strength to strength.
Also a big thank you for you informative, helpful and interesting blog posts over the last couple or three years.
Hopefully we can still say hello on Twitter now and then...
:-)
Wishing you all the best from down here in the Antipodes (waves).
Will get the names into random number generator tomorrow!
And the winners are: Jane TG, Darkdreamer and Cameron Lawton!
Please email me with a) which one of my books you'd like b) who I should sign it to and c) your postal address (which i will discard after use.)
Congrats! And commiserations to the rest. But thank you all for commenting.
